SMART TIPS


START CHASING YOUR DREAMS



With the right attitude, you can make the changes in your life that are required to have the life you want. A good way to start is to begin dreaming. Life is usually so busy that people forgot to dream. Successful people are ablve convince themselves that the dream can and will become a reality.

Once you know where you want to head, you need to determine how to get there. Here are a few useful steps that will help you realise your dreams.


  • DECIDE ON YOUR DREAMS Create a vision for your life. Let go of the voice for your life. Let go of the vi\oice of doom and gloom in your head that screams and shouts everytime you go out of your comfort zone and give a voice to your passion. For example, you may think to yourself that you don't have the required qualifications to do something, or that you are too old or too young , too inexperienced or too overqualified , etc. Turn off that recording inside your head, because whenever a negative thought gets into your subconscious, it settles in your belief system - you become what you think.

  • WRITE DOWN YOUR DREAM Head your paper with the name of your dream and then make a list of all of the benefits and advantages that will happen when you achieve this goal.

  • ANALYSE POTENTIAL ROADBLOCKS Think realistically abou the obstacles that you may face. Write them down, anlyse them and then determine what you will need to do to overcome them. Will you need money, knowledge, people, etc ? Be as specific as you can with respect to overcoming each roadblock you identify.

  • BE READY TO TAKE RISKS Ships are safes in the harbour but that's not what they are meant to do in life. They must sail long and hard and face stormy seas to reach the comfort of the destination they aim for. In a similar manner, personal progress requires us to take calculated risks and make bold moves. There are both good risks and bad risks. Successful people learn how to tell the difference and know as much as possible about the risks before they actually take it, and then they are in a better position to reduce that risk.

  • BREAK DOWN YOUR DREAM INTO PARTS How long do you require to accomplish it? Perhaps you will need to divide your dream into parts and make deadlines for each part.

  • DETERMINE AN ACTION PLAN Make a 'road map'. List every step necessary to reach your goal, and then priorities your steps.

  • PERFECT IT Look again at your action plan. Rewrite it, Refine it, and make it as clean and crisp as possible.

  • VISUALISE YOURSELF BEING SUCCESSFUL Every time you imagine yourself achieving and living your dream, your subconscious agrees with you. So keep your vision and your dream crystal clear.
